What is the payback?
What can I expect in the way of performance & MPG gain by replacing the points with electronic ignition on a 1973 F250 w/360?
Any insight from anyone who has done this will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Don
Happy New Year
Dang I got a hangover
I had a problem installing the system, in that you have to bypass the resistance wire to install the ignitor. I didn't want to pull apart the dash to find the end of the resistance wire so I found a wire (green with red tracer) that it seemed (from the wiring diagram) was only powered in the run position. There is a problem somewhere in the system (maybe at the voltage regulator) that is supplying power to this wire whenever the alternator is turning. The engine, therefore, runs even after I turn the key off. I really need to figure out where the problem is.
Other than the run on problem, the Pertronix kit is working great.

The module has been in for 2 1/2 yrs now and no problems.
Interesting thing I carry a set of points in the glove box just in case
BUT I have since loaned the points to 2 others to get home because there point systems gave up
I wonder what a Pertronix distributor ship costs??
Hey Ken could you sell them here!!

There was one other cheaper place, but since I live close to the above store I saved on shipping, and had a great drive through the mountains of VA.
