I have an '03 Screw and I've been trying to get some brighter/better headlights. I originally bought some 8000k "Euro Lazer" lights. Not much brighter than stock. In fact, I'd say almost worse. Not as bright, but they are a whiter light and throw it farther. But they're not brighter.
So I was trying to get some Sylvania Xenarc X2010 true HID lights. Found out they were discontinued about a year ago. They still show up on Sylvania's site and some other sites, but they are gone.
So I went to good ole' EBay. I found item 8021005413. Anyone try these? I wasn't aiming to change the look of the lights, but these are the more modern "halo" projection type. But it looks like they are the full HID's with ballasts and everything. So one would think they are much brighter. Or at least that's what the advert picture leads one to believe.
Any other recommendations on upgrading the headlights without auxillary lighting and still be legal would be appreciated.
I have them and not only do they look great on the truck, but they are probably about 5 times brighter. Plus I love the HID look. I also dropped the cash and upgraded my fog lights to HID too. They are very bright. You won't be dissappointed.
ide almost not buy from them because it says JDM before the light bulbs..phh but other then that, are these suppose to be like xenons, real ones not thoise crappy 20 dollar bulbs tha honda boys by and say there car has xenon now. im talkin like escalade and navigator sytle xenon. and second do you have a pic of these installed and what the road looks like at night, there actually decent looking headlights for aftermarket thanks
I don't have any pics - but I just now looked at the lights you are talking about. I actually bought the real Sylvania Xenarc system - they are OEM basically. Thoese other lights on Ebay look cheap to me. The Xenarc are sealed with the HID system built into the light assy. They are still for sale on several sights on the web - just do some searching. One sight called something like HID BrightHeadlights still has them.
As far as my fogs, I bought a HID kit and used my stock light assys and just added the HID bulbs, ballast & wiring for each side. They look really nice in the fogs. The fog light bulbs are something like bulb number 9145 ?? I think -- you can put I believe a 9007 bulb in there - they are a lot brighter. It was about a year ago so I cant remember for sure but someone can correct me if Im wrong but I think the 9007 goes into the socket with a little work.
Definately the bright package for headlights though.
