64 M100 upgrate
I am considering up grade the 6 cylinder 4 speed, to a 5 ltr. and 4 speed automatic form an E150. As the truck is going to become my daily driver and in city traffic the clutch can be a pain. I am planning on keeping the single I beam suspension but would like to add the power steering box and power from the econoline. Has this ever been done before? Any suggestions?

look through the forums, You will find many ways of adding power steering, My father has done it to his truck and can give you pointers. Send him a private message at bertha66. And tell him his son recommened you talk to him about how he did his power steering. As far as the 302 goes its a nice upgrade I see them all the time.

the 302 will rev better than the 300, but you're only gaining 2 cubic inches, and losing all the torque that an inline 6 makes. what you'll basicly be trading is more revs for less pulling power. IMHO its not much of an upgrade. It might be possable to adapt that automatic to work with the 300, but if what you realy want is more power and an automatic, then FE is the way to go. a 352, 360, or 390 will all fit and you can run a C6, or even a C4 automatic pretty easily.
As for the upgrade, if you realy have your heart set on it, several companies do make mounting kits for the 302 to fit these trucks.
