Some maintenance questions
1 The fluid in the transfer case the same as the trans. Do each have their own
reservoir or they connected. How often to drain.
2 What type of maintenance is required for the front hubs. I went with ESOF
anything I should be aware with this feature.
3 When should you drain the diffs the first time.
4 Is it necessary to use a coolant filter? If so what level of difficulty to install.
Thanks 35w
2) None, unless you're picky or are having problems. If the hubs aren't used often they can become tough to turn manually. Pop the cover & lube.
3) Check owner's manual for service interval.
4) not necessary but it's good for the water pump, radiator, etc. Here are some pics from a coolant filter I cut in half a few weeks ago. Also, note that if you are running the factory GOLD coolant fill you are good for 100k miles as long as you top off with 50/50 DISTILLED water and coolant. If you let the dealer flush it (he will replace with tap water) then you're only good for 50k and might need to test and add SCA depending on test results. Bypass coolant filters come in 2 ways: 1-regular filter with no SCA additive. 2- filter with SCA. Once you add SCA to the Gold coolant it's no longer good for 100k either.
