AX, you brought up a good point about the Mazdas and the Saturns. Most of todays extended cab trucks have rear hinged doors also(on the rear doors)

If you could get the remaining part of the cab braced sufficiently the suicide doors shouldn't be a problem. I don't really like roadster look on those year trucks but I can see why you are considering it and its your truck....do with it what as you see fit.

I take it you havent had any luck finding a donor cab for a roof?

Good luck with it
Bobby

I have a friend with a chopped 48 Ford Coupe, the removed the door frame top and rear. On the rear side the fitted the top with a window to top seal. On the top they did the same but they added a piece that flips up as the door is opened. The flipup was from a 57 Chebby 2 door HardTop.

I have checked around for a decent cab and the ones I have found the people either want too much money or they want ya to buy the entire truck. I didn't really like the roadster look at first but after you do a 4" body drop on just the cab and refit the fenders and trim the hood to fit it looks really nice!!! a friend of mine built a model to see what the body drop looks like except he did it with a chop top instead of a carson.

DyceDesign,

Cool. Yea, some people think they have gold. What part of the country are you in?
The pic didn't work on my system here (I'm at work) I'll check this post this evening and check it out.

Cool.

The trucks down here in New Mexico that have had their tops whacked of have mostly meen lowriders and have looked ridiculous. I'm not sure if that is mainly because of the lowrider thing or from the missing top.

I imagine that you could make a danged good looking ride if you did it right.
You never know, someone on this board might have a roof section. this place is amazing for tracking down parts

Take care
Bobby
