I've had trouble for 2 winters with flooding. I've had the plugs and wires and 02 sensors changed (2 times for 02 sensor). It has just gotten cold here in the last couple of weeks and now smelling gas when starting. Doesn't seem to be as bad if the block heater is plugged in.
First thing we need to know is what year and model the truck is. What engine would also help. I'm assuming it's fuel injected. It sounds like you may have an injector sticking. If you have a fuel pressure gauge, you can test for that condition. I would also pull the codes in case you have a sensor out of line.
1992 302 fuel pressure was checked last winter. was all ok. 02 sensor was only bad code then. changes for 2nd time. What about the fuel pressure regulator??
