See you on the boards. ….
If the starting fluid didn't do it, I would guess it's an electrical problem. Check to see if it has spark. If you don't know how to do that, post and we'll give you some info.

How long has it been since it was started last and how cold is the weather now? Good idea to check the points and afew other items under the hood to know what shape your electrical and fuel systems are in especially if it has been not started for a while. Things have a way of deteriorating if an older vehicle sits for any lenght of time.
Thanks Fomoko1 the truck is used to move wood ect. around my 5 acres and I drive it around the property during the summer, I put in new wires, cap and rotor last year.I did get it started by actually putting some gas down the carb instead of more starting fluid. It runs a little rough so I will get some carb cleaner to see if that will help.
First off....and overall tune up of the ignition system would help...that includes replacing the spark plugs AND wires....the wires crack and wear out faster than you might think. After that is in order, you may want to look at replacing or rebuilding the carb.....I know when I bought my truck, it would start and run ok with the old Carter-AFB it had.....but it was 1000% (Yes, one thousand!!!) improved with a new carb. Like vision, you don't really know how bad it is until you get it fixed! (Plus, I went from 6-7.5 MPG to about 16 MPG)
Oh, one other thing....if you have headers, they can cook your starter if you don't wrap it in a racing blanket....the starter will still oprate, but doen't have quite enough gusto to start the engine....I learned this the hard way this summer.
