I am looking for a new motor for a F-150 with a 302 in it, I have found an older truck with a 352 and i was wondering if there was any way to tell if the engine is good, the guy i am gonna buy it off of said it was still good, but i don't know how to tell, could some one please tell me!! i think that the tranny won't bolt up to the 352 so i am gonna put a different tranny into it please reply ASAP!!!
The 352 being a FE series engine and the 302 being a
small block ,I would say the bellhousing is different.
Pretty tough swapping this two without more parts.
If the engine is running or can be run, that would help to determine if the engine is okay or not.
Otherwise,it's " Buyer Beware "

It would have to have a bolted attachment system to do that.
The FMX is a solid case.
If you're going to the same trans just different bellhousing sure.
It's the bolt pattern that's different.
Of course with C4's & C6's there are Floor shift & Column shift levers are different.
You are talking automatic trans ; Right?

Brad, It would be much simpler to find another 302 or 351W to replace in your truck. Everything would be a direct bolt up. The FE is gonna require a LOT of changing to make it work.
