Upkeep on a 6.0 HELP
Hi all,
I have 17k miles on my truck and have gone through several oil changes and two fuel filter changes (including the frame rail fuel drain), and replacement of air filter with an AFE setup. Anyway, I need the advice of the Superduty 6.0 gurus. What have I been missing or what have I not done that the dealer does on services? I am getting ready for the next oil change. At what intervals do you service the tranny?

Sounds like your on top of it... First....What are you using your truck for..Conditions Normal/Severe or in between? Tranny is 15K in severe duty use, 30K for normal use.. Tire rotations/pressure, belt/hose checks, should be OK, but always worth a look.. Sure your on that too though, and your manual/diesel supplement will have service/care info. as well...All depends on how its being worked.....Here's a link to Fords maintenance guide/manuals and other interests as towing guides ect..

I drive a few miles to work and tow a 6k boat in the summer. Other than that, the truck is used for daily driving. No extreme use (in my opinion).
Hey Hayapower, the link won't work. Do you happen to know how I can get a "check off" list of EXACTLY what the Ford serice guys do on intervaled services ( ie: clean throttle plates or hidden things I'll never know about unless I pay them).

Sounds like its getting great care..Some will say maybe a fuel additive, and maybe lower mileage oil changes if not driven, or short distance use.. Use quality filters/oil, and of course fuel..
Copy the link, paste it in your address/browser and put a "d" in place of the dots in 'schedule'.. The guides are pretty 'punch card' but there's some good info there..
