The mod bug has really bitten me since I got onto this site But I love this site so its ok.

I got all 4 new drilled and slotted rotors from rotorpros off of ebay for $330 shipped to my door. The oem rotors are around $100 a piece and only last for a couple brake changes while these will last for MANY brake changes and when they are worn, you just replace them since you cant have them turned like oem rotors.

Good to know. They are the first place that I have seen that offers rotors for anything bigger than an F-350.

Kwik, just to let you know, the chip is a lot easier to shift with than the programmer was. I got to get her out today and put a few miles on. Man there is a big difference in power. With no load, the highest egt's were about 650-700 post-turbo.

chip better power than surperchip

The improvement in power youre talking about, would that apply to obs 1997, even with old style injectors? I ordered the same chip for my 97, and was wondering if it would give more power than a superchip? It's good to hear about the low egt's also. Any thoughts? Thanks Jeff

Yeah I get the feeling that there needs to be better refinement of the software that the Predator loads. The engine sounds "strung out" on the freeway on the 85 HP tune. It stalls on the 100 HP tune, acts like a bad CPS. Load a kinder, gentler program and no stalling.
So I will only run with Tow/Haul mode from now on.

I tend to agree, Kwik. I've been using an Edge Evo and have some complaints about its operation. Not that it is awful, but it isn't what I expected when I bought it. In fact, I also ended up only using the 'tow' program, as the 80hp and 100hp didn't work very well. Oh, they had more power than 'tow', but not that much more, and they caused my truck to rapidly elevate EGT as it puked lots of black smoke.

My biggest issue was with shifting - a non-issue if you have a proper trans, like yours, but a real problem if you have a an auto trans. It only shifted well and consistently in 'tow' mode, because that was the only mode that didn't alter trans programming.

Anyway, I'm going to start a new thread about what I've switched to...

Does anyone want to buy a used but well-treated Edge Evo??

I installed my TS Perf. chip today. Still waiting for Santa to deliver the guages, so I didn't play much and have it set in the 'stock' position for now. The 50hp setting really gives it a pretty good kick. I tried it on 75 once and punched it .. Wow.. I felt the kick but didn't see much smoke in the mirror which was a little surprise. For mounting of the switch, I didn't want to drill any holes in the dash, so I went for the side of the drivers seat. Pics in my gallery.

Add 300-400 degrees to that estimate and you'll be in the ballpark for a hot chip towing heavy. I would not recommend you run on anything higher than the lowest chip setting until you get gauges. Obviously you already know that......

Haha I knew you couldnt wait...who could with that sitting around Ditto on the good idea on the grounding strap. I actually threw mine on the 100hp setting last night...some moron was doing 55mph on I25 (75mph speed limit)She got up and moved but I took might foot out of it quick.

You have a VERY CLEAN truck!!!!!! I wish I could keep mine clean but I work construction so its a little difficult to do. Good pics and explanation Glad you like the chip. Get to really see what it does after you get those gauges in! Where did you get yours and how much, if you dont mind me asking.

Ordered them form BCD. The Autometer Z series with an A-pillar pre-painted (didn't want to try and paint it myself in this cold) was about $310 as I recall.
Yea, with the warmup yesterday (38*), I got tired of looking at it in the box and knew it would take a while to route the switch up to the seat so temptation got the best of me

BTW, I was concerned about the transmission but Scott forwarded an e-mail from one of the guys at TSP about the Sonnax running with the chip and they do recommend that set up. The chip does firm up the shifts over what the Sonnax does by itself, but it's not uncomfortable at all.

Has anyone used the chip from Dieselsite? If so what is the difference between this one and the one from DP?

What is the difference? Physically, probably not much.

I have to answer your question with a question - who programs the Dieselsite chips? That can make a BIG difference.

Not sure who programs them, why would that make a difference? Does the same guy do all of the programming? Just called them and a guy named Dennis from TS does them.

T/S Performance is an FTE sponsor, Dennis is the owner of the company. Why not get the chip through them and support the site at the same time?....Just a thought.
