Is it the computer? What is it? could it be the batt having a surge problem?
I have a 97 f150 xtended cab xlt with a 4.6l triton v8
I too have a 97 F-150w/ the 4.6 and I used to have the same problem. I think it might be a problem with the stock head unit. My problems went away after I put in the Pioneer.
You have to pull the door panel to access the speakers. It's pretty easy though, there are 3 screws to remove (1 behind the trim piece that goes up by the window on the rear of the door after you pop it off. 1 behind the power window switch panel after popping it out and 1 more I think). Then lift the panel straight up about 3/4" and it will pull right off. These panels do not use the old pop in type retainers, the have tabs that slide down into slots, so if you try to pry the panel out, you will break the tabs off and it will be loose.
