oh, and about tires

i drive, as most people do, 99 percent of time time on pavement. so that being in mind, i been looking at some tires, my last truck had the ssr's on it and they worked great but never had it long enough to know the tread life.

i been looking at the choices, bfg mudterains, swamper IROK, or the swamper ssr again, all look and perform great to me, but i give the ssr's the edge to to experience.

i would like to know what experiences people had with these as far as tread life, pavement driving, especially in the rain, and sidewall strength against slicing rocks and performance in the mild off-road conditions. your all's help is appreciated

My choice for 99% road driving would be the BFG's but the sidewalls are not really a strong point for them. They will give you great mileage and they do decent enough offroad.

I, quite honestly am not a fan of BFG tires. I always wanted a set of these good lookin BFG tires when i was getting into trucks. I had a set of BFG AT's on my truck, and they were nothing but an onroad tire, and even syped they sucked in the winter. I put 20k miles on the truck, and they were showing considerable wear. I was a tire weasle at a local shop for a couple years, and installed, ballanced, rotated, syped, many a different brand tires. And it was my experience that I did alot of replacement tires for BFG owners. Terrible hopping problems, seperations, and sidewall slices. Dont get me wrong, alot of people seem to have alright luck with them. But myself personally would not buy another set of BFG truck tires. When compared to other brands that basically copied the tread patterns of the BFGs, you'll come out paying way less, and from what i found, get better customer support and warrenty. Take my info however you like, it it just my opinion. I think BFG could do a bit better with keeping up to technology in both their car and truck tires, drop the prices accordingly, and get their road hazard warrentys up to par. Sorry BFG lovers.

And for me, i broke my winter beater car, so im proving to everyone that a 15" wide bogger can be a good all season tire, especially with a locker!

I have had good luck with the BFG Muds on a couple of my trucks. You're right about the all terrains sucking.

Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos. Bought them specifically because I got sick and tired of hydroplaning.
