I buy all of my car stereo equipment on ebay. No problems for the past few years. I've bought new and used. Look at the seller's feedback. Negative feedback really hurts the seller so they are more than likely not going to rip you off. My advice is to buy from sellers with 99+% positive feedback. Buy from power sellers too, they have been around awhile. I don't buy from a seller with less than 100 as their rating. Hope this helps.
Good advice -- check out the ratings
but be aware that buying used electronics is always a gamble
saving a few bucks up front does not justify the potential
headache you may be in for
also
check out the ebay sellers warranty policy
some offer no warranty --while others offer a 'in house' warranty
and few are authorized sellers that offer manufacturer warranty
g/l
None can offer manufacturer from JL Audio though. Check ratings and read the feedback.
I've only had one bad experience and that was when I bought a 9" LCD touchscreen that I bought and it came with an in-house warranty, and once I received it, it didn't work and I tried contacting the guy but I had been caught in the middle of his website getting shutdown and his ebay account closed, but ebay refunded all of my money (including shipping) and I still have this 9" LCD screen. Ebay does do a good job at keeping the bad apples out, and they're fair.
I had a good experience buying a good used Profile 3 channel amp off of ebay. It was just as described and packaged well and the private seller was honest in his discription. I am still using that amp 3+ years later. I think it's all dependent on the sellers feedback, both amount of and amount of positives that helps distinguish the good ones. Just remember, don't get pulled into the bidding war hype. There is always another good deal around the corner if you don't get impatient.
i've purchased 3 amps off ebay ..ANd have had good sucess, one was new, the other two used and all are still working. Speakers are iffy got two sets of used and one out of each pair was messed up wish i would have bought new. i won't buy a headunit off ebay but thats because i want a good warranty service on one if there are any issues. Speakers i'll buy new ones off ebay, but not used. I feel amps are usually the best bet as far as the used stuff.
