I would appreciate any opinions on my intermittent problem. I have a 60k mile 1999 v10 4X4. I recently noticed my lights dimming and replaced the battery.
I figured it was time to change the original. This seemed to help but the dimming happened and the volt gauge dropped completely. I then replaced the alternator and everything seemed fine. Tonight, the gauge dropped slightly and the lights dimmed with the heater on high while sitting at a stop light. As soon as I took off and revved it up everything was fine. But, now at idle with lights on, heater on high, etc., everything is fine, even at idle. It just did it once.
Could the original belt be glazed and slipping? or something else?

Thanks for reading.
Check your grounds and make sure your connections are good. Also make sure you have no corrosion on the battery terminals.
Changing the belt would probably be a good maintenance practice whether it's the cause of your problem or not. But, you should have your alternator checked.
