My 99 psd has 145000 miles on it and i was thinking about the sonnax mod. But Ive heard that the detergent in the new fluid could break up deposits that have formed inside and plug up ports and passages??? I think the fluid was changed at 50000 but I dont know about 100000 when I bought it??? Do you think Im safe or not. Thanks

I'd change it and not worry about it. It will also give you a chance to clean out the pan and inspect for "stuff" unknown. Be sure to also pull the convertor plug and drain it, too, as your '99 has a plug.

You're going to really like the Sonnax/springs change.

Does a 02 also have a plug and how much fluid is in the converter?

No, I believe the last year for a convertor drain plug was early in 2001 if I recall from another thread here on FTE.

Bean counters undoubtedly decided they could save a dime.

I think I drained around five quarts out of my 2000's.
