Holley 1850 auto kickdown conversion?

I have a chance to get an 1850 cheap that has no auto transmission kickdown linkage and need to convert it for an auto. Have any of you guys installed the kit that converts an 1850 over for this? If so, is it worth the trouble or should I just go and find a carburetor already setup for the auto?

Yes, it's not too bad. Basically, you just have to change the front throttle shaft.

Well, it looks fairly simple, but I wanted to see what problems anyone might have ran into doing this. Thanks!

The worst part is the 4 screws that hold the throttle blades to the shaft. They are kinda soft and the threads are dinged to keep them from backing out. Make sure after reassembly and you have worked the throttle to make sure that they don't hit the base plate when opening and closing, make sure to ding the threads again so that they won't back out and fall into the engine.
