gauges help!

the person that had my 81 f150 before me hacked the gauge wire none of them work. i have a aftermarket voltage meter and a rpm gauge how do i hook these up?? oh ye it has a 302

Tachometer, one wire to NEG (-) side of coil, other wire to ground.

Voltage Meter, one wire of Fuse Holder to Starter Relay, Battery side, other wire of Fuse Holder to Meter and other Meter wire to ground.

Do you have a Vacuum Diaphragm on your Distributor?
Do you have an Ammeter or a Light?

Voltage Meter, one wire of Fuse Holder to Starter Relay, Battery side, other wire of Fuse Holder to Meter and other Meter wire to ground.
I think I would hook this to a key on power point, like the radio power, so the gauge would turn off when the key was off. It may run the battery down hooking it straight to battery power.

Yes, you’re right, I do not know what I was thinking. Do you know how much power they draw?
