I used to count my real friends on one hand, until I think about a post like John's. I'm not sure how many of us inhabit this board, but I do think of you as real friends. This tosses aside my initial comment.
A little holiday flashback... my first xmas leave back to Jersey to be with my folks circa 1966. Sitting down at the table, they said grace... adding a prayer for my safety during my time in service. It was humbling to say the least. I don't say grace alot anymore, but I will add a prayer for my friend in the service for his safe return to us.
Thanks for the kind words, John. One of the great things about Christmas is the way it causes folks to appreciate each other. As the other guys said, we all receive much more out of FTE than just info/help on our trucks, and you're a big reason for that.
To John and all the others that inhabit this forum-
I really appreciate the friendly banter and help offered here and hope that each and everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a new year filled with health and the love of family. John, I think of Cole often when I hug my grandchildren and am thankful they are not having the problems he is facing. I trust he is doing better and will continue to pray for his healing. Now that you are "retired" we should be hearing more from you and the progress you are making on that '53.
Thank you for your holiday sentiments; I too have had a forced "retirement" lately. I haven't had much contact lately on the forum, but I would like to echo your words re: the friends made on this forum. I would like to wish all a very Happy Holiday season.
I will be travelling to Arizona over the Christmas holidays,, would like to view any trucks and/or suppliers in the area if time permits. Would welcome any contact from the forum; my email is currently non-active
I can't add anything to what has been written here except to echo your sentiments. My youngest son is in the Army this Christmas and it will be special having him home, he was away from home on his his birthday for the first time and something as small as that gives a little insight to what some others deal with in their personal lives. I am truly grateful to and for all of you and especially the people I have developed personal friendships with through this forum. My family and I will be spending Christmas with our future ''in-laws'' (another son is getting married in the spring) so this year, like all the previous ones, will have it's own special moments. I wish a very merry Christmas to all of you and your families and thanks to John for starting this thread, I probably wouldn't have said all these things without that.
Merry Christmas everybody! And John, you are right. We are a compilation of those we have encountered thru our travels both in person and via the internet. I have received so much help here at FTE and feel obligated to help others (when I can) who need a hand in trying to get their old Ford back on the road. I hope that everybody is safe out there and gets that special whiz-bang present they are hoping for under the Christmas tree. Jag
I Have Never Had The Pleasure Of Meeting You In Person However ,you Have Made My Life Alot Easier When It Came To The Volare Install In My Effie . I Do Encourage Any New Comers To This Site To Trust This Guys Insight And Knowledge . He Is As Close To A Walking Encyclopedia As They Come.
Thanks for the good words John and a very Merry Christmas to you and your family...and to all the good folks on FTE as well! Here's hoping for the best in the new year and for more garage time too!
Your words are dead on. The guys and gals here don't realize how sometimes their reply to a simple question or even the goofy things/questions we all say or ask brighten/take us away from the normal daily chaos that is life. Just today I was out riding in my 55' in Mid 45 degrees with no heat but only if I could get my AC to work in Mid August like it did today . I had a blast. My wife called me on the phone to stop by Krogers and she asked me was I having a good time when I started singing the gospel quartet music I was playing she knew, she knew. I wish everyone a MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS and many good things to come in the new year like Health, Family, Peace of Mind, and whatever your budget and time can allow on your project. Best wishes to all. Donald In Tennessee
