I've had my 86 6.9 for almost 20 years...never a problem that a little regular maint wouldn't take care of...
Now...no start, my son ran it out dry and haven't been able to get it to pick up ever since...replaced batteries(needed them anyway) filter, drain back lines, o-rings, removed the water separator....bled out the lines....no spray but on one cylinder...
Haven't checked the check valve yet but I'm after that this evening...
ip solenoid clicks ok, turns over like a bat outta _____, won't pick up....?
air bled out at the filter, plenty of low pressure,......not alot of pressure at the injector lines when bled out.
Open the schrader valve on the Filter header by removing the core (tire valve), ensure there is over 1/4 fuel in the tank selected. Place a hose on the Schrader valve and duct it to a container, now crank engine for 15 seconds. Fuel should now be at the filter header, always fill the new filter with clean diesel via the small round holes BEFORE installing. Does the FSS on the IP have power.....check all connectors for power 9V with key on. How long does WTS light stay on......5-10 secs depending on ambient temps. Start immediately after WTS goes out
Haven't pulled the schrader valve yet...tonight....
Have fuel to the filter and bled out the air through the valve...
when I removed the water separator I unplugged the electrical connection...does that need a special termination tie, will it interfere with the system?
I think I'm doomed to remove the tanks next to check the filters and replace the sending units....at 60 I'm not looking forward to under the belly of the beast again...lol...
trying to keep a reasonable sense of humor...
this truck was going to be sold and stopped cold...It likes me too much
I shouldn't have let it see the 03 7.3 in the driveway!!

if you needed a jump start and you used one power cord on both batteries, you may have fried the shut off solenoid... thus no fuel to lines. when you activate the key switch, do you hear the shut off clicking on and off ??
