Went Racing

Just got back from LACR with some new times

11.685 @ 116.932 mph

With the altitude correction for 2710' it would be

11.33 @ 120.43 mph

It's getting quicker all the time

Had a BLAST

Those times are really amazing when you consider that most of the new liter class sport bikes are "only" turning low to mid 10s with an experienced rider.

Most of the issue is getting off the line without wheelies . . .

When you consider how heavy these trucks are, getting down the track that fast shows the incredible HP this thing must be making - wow!

Sounds good Gene.

One question, how are the Hoosier's doing?
I have always bad experiences with Hoosiers... Poor traction (for a slick) when they aren't worn - absolutely ATTROCIOUS traction when they are worn.

For only be 10" wide they have done quite well for us.

Before we bumped it up to about 650 RWHP we were getting 1.6 60' times

Now we can only get 1.7 60' times and spin off the line every time.

We are going to switch to M&H Racemaster for the new tires.

Plus they are a DHRA sponsor.

How do I say this politely. Most people do not understand air pressures and what exactly is going on in the burn out box. You need to know your tire, just not put a set on and hope for the best. A Hoosier may perform on a hotter day, GoodYear on colder cloud covered day. Keep track of the manufacturer date/information off your tires. You can narrow a problem right down to the build machine/shift that produced the tire.

I'm not pointing at you Big......lol

A video tape will tell you more at the line than just guessing. Just some tidbits that some may not know about.

No thats fine. We have done some substantial tests on a tyre dyno, and we had the Hoosiers down to thier maximum traction point (in terms of operation temp AND pressure), but M/T's were making far more traction (to the tune of 8%) at thier ideal temp and pressure.
Plus the M/T's would last for longer before their was a significant reduction in performance.
We found Good Year Eagles were better for our track cars.
Bear in mind these were for Sub 8second 3000lb rotary powered cars, and 500lb single seater track cars, doesn't mean all Hoosiers are a bad tyre per say, just I am yet to come across a scenario where they have been the best tyre offered. (a diesel drag truck could well be it)

Is that tire or tyre? I was only using the Hoosier/GoodYear in reference....
