Agreed. Spybot is the best I've used. And it's free! Can't beat that.

Try Spyware Doctor. You can find it for free on dowload.com. I have had really good luck with it. It even picks up stuff my Norton package misses. Good Luck

Spybot S&D, along with spyware nuker, generally don't get anything, also use Mozilla Firefox for a browser, blocks some as well.

IE is terrible about spyware crap, my wife has to use it to do some of her online classes, and she gets loaded up with garbage every time, where my computer rarely has a bug on it at all.

I tried spybot search and destroy and the only thing it did was give me a hard time anytime I tried to download anything.

I use spybot and Ad-Aware. one seems to pick up what the other missed. Haven't had any problems downloading though.

re: running slow. are you remembering to clear your cache out periodically? that'll really slow a machine down if you don't. I also run a disc cleanup and a defrag once a week.

bigdaddy you enabled the immunize feature...do not do that unless you have someone who clicks blindly on all the pop ups or you have the little ones(including teens)who want to check out the **** sites or use the download clients..(limewire,morpheus grokster etc....) also with the addition of the antispyware, and firewalls and more advanced antivirus apps, you should have at least 512MB of memory for your systems...it makes the machine work a little less hard to run the apps in the background while you surf or are lurking here and there......

Ditto on the Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware!
My wife's pc slowed to a crawl Spybot found some things (62 of them!)
One of the IT 'techies' at work suggested Ad-Aware.
(BOTH are free downloads).

Ad-Aware found another 55 problems!!!!!!!!! 117 spyware problems, total!
Here P-IV 3.0 gig pc FLYS now!!!
