I would suggest contacting a good body shop--they would be able to tell you if the mouldings are still available.

Aftermarket or from FordI know that Ford still has the mouldings available for 92-96 F150s--but they are very expensive from Ford. I left mine off when I painted the box. It would have cost me about 300 dollars to replace my mouldings.

good suggestion. the reason I want to replace mine is because there lifting in spots, and the moulding looks disstorted.not sure how much luck I would have reinstalling them. I understand there is an aftermarket moulding that looks similiar to the 92-96 moulding, comes in a role for about 50$. anyone try this?

I priced out the mouldings from FORD for my 91 F150 - the entire kit came to just a hair over $1,000.00. After I picked my jaw up off of the counter I thanked the nice man at the dealers and quickly exited the building. My parts house has jobber stuff on a roll that is a very close match to the original for about $100.00 a roll - much closer to my snack bracket. I can't remember exactly how many feet were on a roll - sorry

Cheers!

I think that the trucks look better without the factory XLT moulding. Just have to watch out for the door and side dings.

wow Mike a grand for those mouldings from Ford. I would of liked to have seen the look on your face, I would of been shock too.so much for Ford loyalty when you get that kind of price. I wonder how hard it would be to clean my old ones up and reinstall them I'm afraid they won't go back on very well, and I don't want to screw up the new paint,Phoneman no mouldings, thats an option too,I'll have to see what it looks like all white now, compared to the brown&white it use to be. I kinda of thought the trim would break it up abit.

Personally, I don't particularly like the looks of my truck without the trim pieces. Perhaps it's because the truck looks wrong with trim on the cab and not on the box? I dunno - see for yourself with the pics in my gallery. I fully intend on putting the moulding back on as soon as I complete the paint project, which will be in the spring. I have the old mouldings from the box and had intended on cleaning them up really well and seeing if I could re-apply them with some 3M body side moulding double sided tape. I doubt if it will stick as well as the factory applications. However, might be worth a shot.

Cheers!

Mike looks like your doing a good job of thoses panels I'm impressed. it was good to see your truck all white, mine is going to be all white when its done, mine is that creme white. but i see what you mean about the truck needing the trim, it breaks the white up, I'm definately putting something back on for trim.say is that Reynolds museum still open in Wetaskiwin, its got some pretty cool stuff in there, I grew up about 20 miles north of you

I just painted my truck this summer and had to remove my mouldings. If you don't already have them off then make sure not to peel them off! This will bend the cheap chrome and make it wrinkled! I used a scraper, a putty knife might also work if it is stiff. To put them back on all i did was scrape the old adhesive off (down to shiny metal) which was NO FUN and cleaned them with a strong cleaner like paint thinner or reducer. Then i bought a role of high strength 3M adhesive tape and made sure before i stuck them back on, I cleaned the painted suface with paint thinner.

Hello Mr. Omni! Yes the RAM is alive and well and is currently featuring one of my favorite exhibitions - Motorcycles (a history in retrospect). 20 miles N. of here would put you in LEDUC? I do the daily commute for work in Edmonton - it can be a real PITA at this time of year although winter so far has been very kind. The post from NWDFORD kinda reflects what I am going to try and do with the mouldings that I removed from the truck box. I was very careful when I took them off and they did not "wrinkle". I may try to re-apply them once the final painting is done or I'll just bite the bullet and buy new stuff. Don't know just yet. Where abouts in BC are you now living? My family and I lived in Cranbrook for a number of years in the late eighties and early nineties.

Cheers!

I screwed up I meant 20 miles south of you- Ponoka, I don't like to say it to loud, I'm in kelowna now, I use to work north of cranbrook at the saw mill in canal flats in the mid seventies, long time ago now, use to love those natural hot springs around there, If I remember right there was a really cool one south of canal flats called swan or white swan something like that. that is really nice country there. did a lot of partying in kimberly. man you got me going now, those wild and crazy days for me back them, all settled down now
