Good news for us diesel owners in Utah County. We will no longer need to do emission test beginning 2006. The newspaper article quoted EPA officials as saying "there is not any science to support it". Hopefully this will happen in other states also.
PS I learn something new every day on this site. It Rocks!
Arnold does have a Hummer "the truck", but I thought it ran off a hydrogen fuel cell. A lot of the Hollywood types have bought International CXTs and other big diesels, maybe that has something to do with it. We have not had emission testing here in Florida for years, but I do remember what a pain it was when we did. Never failed, I think you had to be burning coal to fail one of those test back then.
I've got three exempt vehicles. The diesel truck, the 64 Falcon convert, and Mad Max the dune buggy. In fact, I've lived my entire life in CA and haven't had to smog a vehicle yet! It almost makes it worth the median home price of $715,000... Yikes.
