"I own a 1994 Ford F-150 4x4. Last winter my radiator went bad, and I blew the head gasket, since I was not at home when the head gasket went out, I had to continue on the drive. "
thats just sad. or stupid.

just like getting a new woman...don't want something worn out and a problem in the past
But would they give you a test drive? True story from my brother. Just as he was about to "consummate" that test drive, the girl shouted "Oh no! This is not right!" Then she got up, got dressed and went home, leaving him unfulfilled

Meanwhile, Ford and Ford enthusiats wonder why market share is lost to Toyota, Honda, and the others.
The truth is all of them are capable of this kind of nonsense. One of the ironies of the market was (not sure if it still is) the rating of Toyota. The cars, #1. The dealers, in the crapper.
For me, I had some issues with a couple of Ford products. Dealers fixed it and were great. Until recently. Now, it's the same crap you get at a Chev dealer....
So, it gets tougher to be loyal.
Having said that, gosh I'd like to buy a new Mustang in about 2 minuets....
One could bypass the troubles by getting a newer Ford truck or something that is overbuilt. The Scorpio and others like it are not built correctly. Our good old Aeros have
1. Either the 3.0 or the 4.0. Both are very tough engines (the 4.0 is a little more prone to blowing head gaskets, but will not unless the cooling system is neglected.)
2. Among the most dependable transmissions (if seviced regularly they far outlast anything GM every built)
3. Overbuilt frames. Despite the short hood, they almost passed the 1997 crash tests. This was due to the frame being very strong. If a dodge had such a short hood, it would not fare so well.
4. Most the maintenance parts are high quality and cheap to replace. Try that on a GM, where the replacement parts are comparable in price to imports.
5. Many parts are common with other reliable Ford products (Explorer, Ranger, Bronco II)
