Cab Mount questions

I just got ahold of a 78 F250 4x4 supercab chassis and have a few questions about frames n things. I need a cab and box. First of all, are there any differences in cab mounts from two to four wheel drive pickups? I have located a two wheel drive supercab donor vehicle, and was warned to make sure it would mount the same on my 4x4. Also, I would rather build a crewcab truck, and wonder if it is possible to use a crewcab/shortbox combo on a supercab/longbox frame. These may be stupid questions, but I am still just tring to build a tough pulling truck on paper, and don't know that much about these older fords, except that I have always loved the looks of 78-79 Fords.

Thanks
Steve

Cab Mount questions

The supercabs should all mount the same but you're on your own with a crewcab swap. You'll have to relocate the rear cab mounting cross member. I've heard the frame rails vary in distance apart after the cab between two and four wheel drive; maybe someone who's got one can tell you more. One thing to watch with a swap is the transmission tunnel as it has different heights depending on the transmission.
