hi, i also have a stepside (79) and i know how hard it is to find parts for them. however, there is a company that sells most parts for the truckbed, check out Mar-k.com. i have only found one site that sells aftermarked fenders, i believe they were fiberglass at that. will try to find it if your interested.
hey guys, I have a place for you!!!! I just purchased step side rear fenders from a business in Minn. At a very good price, and I have been looking for about 5 months...It's called Bruce Horkey's wood & parts, the phone # is (507)-831-5625.... HE has alot of parts for older trucks and makes the wood floors for them too...
E-mail me and I'll send you a pic of his business card.

I have a 79 short too. Style side not a step side the replacement parts are hard to fide. I have a bed that I am going to fix up. Blue pony where are you and what do you have?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-Jan-02 AT 04:33 PM (EST)]Thanks for the fast reply- I was pulling my hair out tryin' to figure it out! goo was lookin' for a style-side, and toogaw repied he had a stepside also, so I assumed stepside and styleside were the same thing. So,goo, are you looking for a regular smooth sided bed, or the stepside?
bluepony79,
What year is the bed, what condition, and how much are you asking for it?I've got fenders, steps and a tailgate, but the bed i've got is off a 65.I'm trying to find the right style of bed for my 79.
My bed is a 79. It is complete-the bottom of the bed is not original I don't think(it's heavy and solid steel),tailgate with chains to latch it, and two new steel fenders. Painted two years ago. It is solid, with very minor surface rust.If you are interested, email me at pintopony66@dnet.net

Hey Bill! I also am in Maryland. I need a styleside bed, too. Mine is beyond repair (rust and dents). But mine is the long one, 8". If you find a 8" long bed in good shape, will you let me know??
