My 87 ranger 4x4 2.9L just died! I was plowing all day when it died in the driveway of my home .I checked for spark no spark! I had power to the coil but no spark commin out of it.I went and put a new one in but still no spark.Could this be a ground problem???

More than likely your TFI Ignition Module on the side of your Distributor is bad.
Thank you for your help.I will try that in the morning.What about the bad ground theory preventing spark to the coil?Also thank you for the picture

I do not know what you are talking about as far as bad ground with the coil.
If your test light flashes with one lead to ground and the point on the Neg (-) side of the coil with the engine cranking you will get spark as long as you still have power on the Pos (+) side of the coil.
If the truck is turning over with the starter, the ground is good to the engine. Without being there to do a little bit of testing, the best guess is the TFI module. This is what fires the coil.
