PROBLEM: Bad performance/low power. Engine starts ok and doesn't stall, but it runs rough. There seems to be a knocking sound from the engine. There's a serious lack of power; I need to floor the gas pedal just to maintain hiway speed. very slow .
DONE: I changed the plugs, wires and o2 sensor. I'm about to change the distributor cap, but i've got a dumb question: Is it possible that the wires aren't on the distributor cap in the right order? Can someone tell me the right order just to be sure?
Alright, I changed the wires to the correct firing order and that seems to have solved the problem. I can't believe how 3 different mechanics worked on the truck and didn't notice that. Basically the #1 and #3 cylinders were mixed up.
What MPG should be expected of a vehicle like this?
thanks alot!
