Hello everyone,
I posted this question in the past. Where is the IAT sensor in my 4.9 300 6 inline? What does it look like? It's not he IAC valve right? Please help!
I have an after market air filter and aftermarket air ducts between the filter and throttle.

The 4.9 doesn't have an Inlet Air Temp Sensor. It does have an Air Charge Temp (ACT)sensor located on/in the lower intake manifold runner (first one??) measures the air/fuel charge temp going into the engine. I believe that if you have a Mass Airflow Sensor as some of the cars and later models have there is a temp sensor built in to the unit, but the 300 doesn't have a Mass Airflow Sensor.

I purchased a "sensor" which is more like a resistor from an ebay store which claims that it may give you up to 10 HP cheating the ECU by teliing it the engine needs more air or something like that. THis resistor goes in the IAT connector and they said it was definately for my engine and year! what do you think?

No i know what hes talking about because I bought 1 a year or so ago, actually hooked it up to my IAC because I didnt know the difference then. Its for your IAT, and it basically tells the comp its like 30 degrees all the time, so it adds more fuel to compensate for the more dense air, but thinking about it, would your ECU just see a rich condition and lean the injector pulses a bit?
