Yes, the electric choke is under constant positive "+" energy and could possibly burn out the thermo contact in the choke housing.

I can't figure out why they would put it on the solenoid(relay)? The two choices over there are power all the time(the choke would be open all the time) or power during cranking(not enough time for the choke to warm up).

You can try the white/black wire on the alternator like the other guy if you have the older style alternator with the seperate regulator. Or you can run it into the fuse box to a key-on power source.

I've looked for that white and black wire and I can only find a black-yellow one. I don't think mine has the seperate regulator either.

Whats some good key-on power sources again? Should you put another fuse between fuse box and choke? What amp?

Thanks,

Kyle

A good place to look is the fuse box. You can tap into the box for power with what they call a fuse tap. Radio Shack sells them. It's a little piece of brass that slips over the fuse that is already in the fuse box. Then you can use a slip on crimp connector to hook the wire up, run it throughthe firewall, and to the choke.
