I picked up a 6 volt motor for my '53 F100 but no switch for it. The motor has three leads, red, black and green. Will this switch off eBay item # 4595666351 work with my motor?
Can anyone point me to a resource that shows how this wiper motor is wired? My parts and repair manuals don't cover the electric wiper motor at least that I can find...
my Dennis Carpenter book shows the on/off wiper motor switch-2 speed for 53-56 at $40.00 with item #B6C-17470-A It also shows a seperate # for 51-52 as item #8C-17470 at $17.50. As for how to wire it, how do the connectors look? Is it the original fabric wiring?
It's only 3 wires to the motor, no connectors. PVC insulation made by American Bosch 6 volts WWC 6A. (does that mean 6 amps draw?) plain steel color (surface tarnished) with red label, came with separate triangly mounting plate. Wire colors are red, green, black. red and green go to the motor leads inside the gear housing and are connected by a wire wound resistor (so it appears.) Black goes into the gear case? I get about 2.5 ohms through the red-green pair, nothing for any other pair.
I called Carpenter's who said the 53-55 switch part had 6 leads and looked like it was for aftermarket wipers. The 52-55 had 4 holes for wires which sounds more plausible since I'll need power into the switch.
