I have a -95 Explorer and i'm looking for a "new" 4R55E automatic case.
Does anybody knowes what years-models to look for?Does a 4R55E from
a SOHC 4.0L -98 fit my 4.0L Pushrod,for example?
Not yet,but tomorrow they comming to take it away,ha ha.Serius,i think your discussion make sense, and i want to be prepared. The wehicle is going to be
in care of a well knowned specialist of automatic transmissions and he said" this is not looking good".I have looked on the exploded view of the case, and you may be right.
I'm very grateful for your opinion, and i wan't to find out the altenatives for me.Do you know someting about the compability for the 4R55E on a SHOC versus a pushrod?
I will gladly keep you
I only know it's a 4R55E to a Explorer -95.I have no problem to find a case from a -98
Explorer, but i'm been told that only cases from -95 and -96 will fit.I have a idea that
Ford may have changed the layout of the 4R55E to fit the SHOC engine, but i'm not
sure. It's harder to find a -95,-96 case than a -98.-99,and if i going to replece it, i rather have a newer one.
I't was the reverse planet that was broken. We had to drill holes in the input shell and pull it out with a lot of force.Rather expensive to fix, looking for a new case.Have a price,1000$ inkluding shipping to Sweden.Expensive?
I heard that a automatic case from a Sierra 87-93 is similar to the case of a -95 Explorer.Anyone that can confirm that?(They are more common in Sweden than Explorer!)
