Massachusetts Emissions

Has anyone out there been through an emissions test with a 6.9 diesel. I live in the Peoples Republic of Massaachusetts and jhave just learned that my 86 6.9 F350 4X4 has to be submitted for an opacity test. I have yet to see an older Ford 6.9 that doesn't smoke when you push it hard. Any advice as to how to get my truck to pass emissions would be appreciated.

Hi, I live in Nevada and they do that crap here! We have to smog every year! Generally if you have not taken enything off or really altered anything you will be fine! Its all about the money!!!

Thanks for the info. The truck is all original. It runs great Ford had a great idea in 1986 it's to bad the environmental regs killed the 6.9 and the 7.3. Funny thing is I cant get a straight answer from the Mass RMV or any Diesel Inspection Stations as how to test or not to test my diesel.

Hey again, the enviormentalist mess up a lot off things!! when they test them they put them on a dyno run them up to 2,000rpm, not sure what else they do, but a place called Pro One Auto test mine, there # is 1 775 856 4434 and it cost 35 bucks but I always get a free? key chain!! haaha!
