99 explorer cold start problems
My 99 expl has runs very rough and idles erratically during start up. I've read the this could be an IAC valve prob. I have got a lean code from the OBD II. Does anybody know if the IAC would cause a lean code or could this be an Intake manifold issue? Just replaced O2 sensors, so they are good. Don't want to replace the IAC unless it's bad.

You can try cleaning the IAC first. After your truck starts and it is warm does it idle fine? If it does you proberly have the Intake Manifold O-rings problem. And yes both will cause a lean code.

Definately sounds like the intake gaskets. I did mine during the summer and there is a huge difference in cold starts from last year. They are a pretty involved job and if you aren't a mechanic, or consider yourself equal to a mechanic, it is probably a job for a shop. Expect a $400 bill for the work, just a rough guess.
