Differential Differences

Does anyone know if a ring and pinion from the front diff of a 92 explorer will fit in an 87 ranger front diff?

I'd check the ratios to make sure they are the same size.

also unless you changed it your 87 ranger has a dana 28 wich uses a 6.something" ring gear and expleror could have a dana 35 with uses a 7.5" ring gear.
