I have a 99 F250 2wd crew cab long bed.
My brother has a 01 F250 2wd extended cab short bed.
Here is my concern. His shifts 1-2-3-4 rather quickly and firmly. It gets up and goes real quick. Like driving a car.
My truck shifts 1----2----3-----4 slowly but firmly and takes longer to get up and go. Mine takes higher speeds and RPM's in order to shift into the next gear.
We both have the same rear end gears and both the same transmission.
I remember on the old fords they had an adjustment for throttle pressure so you could do some adjusting on it. Im not sure if he has a shift kit in his or not. He bought his used. I know I dont have a shift kit.
We both use a Superchips tuner.
So is there anyway for me to adjust the shift points??
Will a sonnax kit or similar do this type of shifting where its quicker??
Could my problem be a torque converter starting to go? I can pull a trailer just fine with no slippage.
Ordered my Sonnax valve kit today figured it cant hurt. On a scale of 1-10 how much of a pain the a__ is it. Do I have to drop the valve body? Is there anything else I should do while im in there to check or ??.
