SD fuel pump questions

is the tail on the back the pump wires? what are the three terminals for on the side of the pump?? fuel heater?

getting ready to go electric fuel on my 97, really havent looked at the pump too hard.

Not sure what pump you are looking at. Stock pump has two lugs coming off the motor. Hot wire and a ground.

2 lugs or the tail on the back???

ill have to look at it closer when i get home.

The 99-up frame-rail mounted stock electric fuel pump has two lugs on the output (or front) side of the assembly. See below.

thanks springer, just the way the studs are on the side of the pump they looked like electrical termials. i guess there just mounting studs.

Oh...I get it. You have a pump that is still mounted in the frame clamp. Loosen the screw on the opposite side from the three studs and the pump will slide out of that clamp. Once it's out you'll see that it's just a plain old in-line pump.
