Well that was a fun evening! I'm glad Mike and Clint and his family could make it!!! We missed everyone else. It was funny because I was worried about getting a table that we all could fit at, and by 8:00, we were the only ones there - I couldn't believe no one else was there! We had great food and got to listen to some music while there!

I look forward to the next time we can get together and do something!

Well, I spoke too soon. The very next day, after I posted I would be able to go, I got a call from my dad. He needed help for 4 days and I needed to be there THAT afternoon. Packed a bag and took off for southern Utah, got back Sat. night.

Wonder if I'll ever get to meet any of you guys?

Hope everything went alright! I'm sure we'll have a few more get togethers...

Thanks David. My dad is retired (73 years old) runs a small gravel pit operation in Parowan (about 18 miles north of Cedar City) It's mostly a part time operation although many weeks he puts in a full week with maintainence on top of hauling loads and screening gravel.

There's a TA truck stop at the first exit that is expanding the parking and putting in a shop. I went down to help last month before Thanksgiving when the contractor ordered 9,000 yards of fill material. They called last week and needed to have 4, 10 wheel dumps and 2, belly dumps haul material for 2 days. It takes me at least a day of running a track hoe to drag down and pile enough material for something like that and then 2 days of loading trucks with a rubber tired loader.

After dad had pneumonia last year, I try to not let him get too worn out and help when I can. It's a bit tough on my beat up body but actually feels good (in a painful way) to do the work. I'm glad when it's over though.

Hope you all have a very good Christmas and a great New Year.

Well the wife and I had a good time. It was nice to meet David, his wife, & Mike. Now I can put a face to the name. The food there was great and it was enjoyable just to be able to sit and chat with that blue grass band playing the whole time.

David, looks like you got to use your snowblower at least a 4th time today.

Clint
