4 Wheel drive noise....

4 Wheel drive noise....
Just used 4 wheel drive tonite....and noticed while driving a roar/hum noise.....which sounds like its coming from left front. Could be the entire front end but obviously i dont sit on that side. It is a constant noise which kinda sounds like tire slap going down the road. When i take it out of 4wd it goes away. Just curious if this is normal noise...maybe driveshaft spinning or something? hub? wheel bearing? Or normal 4wd noise? 4wd seems to be working fine. Just noise is always there no matter what speed when in 4wd.
Thanks for all help guys. ANd its a 2001 F250 with the stock auto hubs in it. Just in case anyone asks.

I ahve the same truck as you and it makes a little noise in 4x4. I am not to sure what it is, lets see what everyone has to say. I have had it to the dealer and they said everything's perfect.....

There will be some noise for sure, every 4wd I have driven has a little noise in 4wd. Now as far as a roar/hum, mine is a slight hum, more then likely it is made from the tranfer case and front diff. My 98 that had independant front suspension made noise when in 4wd as well. But it was a slight hum imop.
