I think the biggest problem with Windows is how it's "THE" operating system out there. Hackers and the like spend their time doing everything they can to hack into Windows running machines. There was a virus that went around a year or two ago on Apple products and people were flipping out. Analysts were saying that if Apple OS's were more common that you would see them having a lot of the same problems that Microsoft has.
I ran a computer on Windows 98 for almost 5 years and never had a blue screen. The key to it was just making sure I always kept all the spyware and adware off the machine.
another quality product from the MicroS_ _ _ Corporation. (Hint, the 3 blanks are not "oft") Like SierraBen, I am now the way of unix, only I have a Mac, but I ran RedHat 8 on a dell for 3 years...
i also have a x box 360 with pgr 3, call of duty 2 and gun and have not had a problem with any of these games, pgr 3 ive played the whole thing in easy level with no problems.
microsoft is getting sued. over the game systems being defective. part of the suit was gamestop people talking about how. they didnt work the bugs out of it, trying to be the first out on the market...
apparently the inverter will overheat, screw up the chips, and locking up game systems.
theres even a video out, if you knock over the tower, or somthing like that, as its going over, it will reach a certain angle, and you can hear the game disk grind...
I would imagine that if you were running a game and turned the tower from it's flat position to it's vertical tower that it would scratch the disk. I think that Newton figured that out with an apple falling from a tree. It also tells you in the XBOX 360 manual, "do not move the system while the cd/dvd-rom is operating."
To anyone who does something idiotic like that, heres your sign.
Next thing I'm going to hear is "the 360 sucks, I dropped it from 1 story up and it will no longer play!"
EDIT: There was a guy that wanted/is trying to file suit against Microsoft because his 360 is defective. Microsoft told him that they would replace his 360 and give him a free game. Anytime that you mass produce a product their will be defective ones. I see it everyday at Home Depot when customers return all kinds of faulty products, everything from power tools to blindes.
