is my diesel suppose to smoke . i thought when you mash the petal it blows black smoke and mine doesnt. i dont know maybe thats why my truck feels like it has no power . sometimes it will and sometimes it wont.maybe some outthere can help.

stock tuning is very economic. plus it has to pass EPA standards from the factory, so NO it wont blow huge plumes of smoke like mine can. you would need a fueling box/chip/tuner to be able to shoot more furl, in turn it will make more power. the smoke is just "wasted power you can see" according to Banks but actually the extra fuel is there because the turbo cannot feed enough air relative to the fueling, and the extra fuel shot in every compression stroke helps cool the cylinder, compared to less fuel in the same shot.
