I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with their trans. slipping. Mine seems to be slipping from 1st-2nd. Its been doing it for a while now. Fluid is fine. What do you guys tink?
I haven't had the problem, but my buddies 97 F-150 4.2 has done it quite a bit, we changed the fluid and the filter to no avail, took it to a national tranny shop, it wouldn't slip for them till we picked it up, then they replaced a so called Internal slip solinoid switch, at the cost of $200. The truck ran great for a few months, now it's back to square one, slipping. Fluid is full too. Some food for thought, stummped as well, don't want to spend a fortune on it, hope you find a solution.
drop the pan and the accumulator can be replaced by removing the retainer clip and cover a spring will come down first then the accum. the another spring.dont get the springs mixed up.its a simple fix.just make sure the new accum. is lubed so you dont tear/nick the new accum.
