fishmann,

Would you say those claws ride nice on the street? I"m not too worried about noise but want something that is ROUND and will bal. w/out needing 20 oz. in one spot on the rim.

they ride about like any other 40" mud tire i have ridden on, maybe a bit smoother than some but still have the road noise. just drop a couple of golf ***** in the tire to balance them and call it good

A buddy of mine has a set of the Baja Claws and is unhappy about how quickly they are wearing on the street. He dosen't have many miles on them at all (roughly 5,000 miles in a year on a '91 Jeep Wrangler).

Just adding to the pot.

Remington mud brutes! A Buddy has a set on his ride and has 40,000 miles on them. They have wore even and are just about ready for a new set. Remington makes awesome work tires!

Claws don't do any better in the mud then a bfg mt or any similar tire, but it's a better all around tire (like desert and rock wheeling) then mt's, but if you want a decent mud/street tire, i'd say ground hawgs (also clas tend to be pricey). moodybo, were those claws the radials or bias ply, as there is a sizeable difference in wear.

BFG Mud Km's. Had em a full year now and shows very little wear. Its a good tire if you want a street/snow/mud tire. Ive got not complaints on them, other then the price. I could have spent a little more cash to get some nice super swampers but ive had them in snow and its not worth it unless your vehicle has ABS.
