Cold start woes
Now that the temperature has dropped, the colder it gets, the harder my 5.4 is to start, requires holding the throttle to keep running now, starts and immediately quits if you don't. Last year it got plugs, a few months ago it got a new fuel filter, it's a 99 with 102,000 miles on it. Once warm, I can go anywhere, shopping, etc, when I come out, it fires up no problem, but when setting overnight, forget it. I scanned it for codes, check engine lite is burnt out, nothing was listed. It runs great, no lost power or missing, I just got back, got on it a few times on the wet pavement, for an 8000 lbs van, burning the tires was rather easy, runs like a raped ape. Someone mentioned IAC, could this be the problem?

Go up to the superduty forum.open the forum at the top of the forum topics you will see a post stuck at the top click on it.
Then click on the truck ,go to the engine transmission area search till you see it.
