Connecting rod findings
I found something interesting on some long rods from the 360. The casting numbers dont match! Well, they all match between rods, but hear me out here.
On the cap, they are marked C6AE. The rods themselves, though, are marked C7TE-A. Apparently, they shared rod caps over a few different rods.
So anyway, if you want to know what rods you have, dont look at the caps!

i pulled some c7te's out of a 330 ft. the rod caps do not match. some rods say FOMOCO others say ford.
rusty on another note i took a sample of that delo you wanted to see and sent it in today. so monday i will post it. it ran out of gas just like it used to. with 5w20 it had some gas to spare. i also am going to pull the valve covers and take a look inside.

You would be surprised what you find used. Lots of FE maincaps are marked C2AE even through the late 60's. 427's used C3AE caps the same way. Both grey and nodular also....not to stray off subject...LOL
