As far as air tanks andd what not, i've always liked using a piece of tubing, either using it as a bumper, or hide one behind the front and rear bumper, its something i'm planning to do so i don't have to haul around an airtank to all the bogs when we don't have our portable gas compresser with us, for air tanks, weld up the end put at least three bungs in it (one for air input, one for output, and one for water drainage) and your good to go.
How many CF is your tank and what does it cost to fill it KO? I've been kicking that idea around too.
its just an aluminum 20lb tank with an adjustable regulator that goes from 0 to 400 psi. cost me 13 bucks to ge tit filled. and it sbeen filled now for a few months. ive used my impact a buncha times changing tires, air up car/truck/lawnmower tires...used it for blowing when i rebuilt a carb.....its really handy i woudl; highly reccomend co2, just for being able to carry it into junkyards and have an impact wherever you take it.
i got a brand new aluminum tank with plastic carry handle off ebay for 90 bucks shipped. you can find used tanks, but you have to get them certified every 5-10 years. and some may need a new valve etc.
some people know the right people and get them for free. but i think theres a way to just pay a 50 dollar deposit and use the gas company's tank and you just have to pay like 15 bucks everytime and you just exchange the tank.
i prefer to have my own.
also, from what i have seen, it costs 10-20 bucks to fill them. depending on the town and place you get it filled.
its a good idea to get a good regulator with high flow rate and one that wont see damage from the frost that forms under moderate to heavy use.
It'd be no different than what the guys that refill your co2 bottles for a paint ball gun use, just a couple of one way/check valves, some approaite hose and fittings and you shouldbe good to go, but you might need some type of certificate to do it though, as some places are kinda of paranoid about this type of thing.
