Anyone have a wiring schematic for the center console with radio controls? I'm wanting to install a fuse block inside the center console to power a number of components for the install of a small form factor desktop computer (with a special 12 volt power supply that has a built in capacitor to keep it from blowing up when I turn over the diesel). I can highjack the cigarette lighter, but I'm concerned it might be too much juice, and just burn up ATC fuses - the touch screen power supply currently has an inline 15 amp. Thinking it might be safer to jack in to the power and ground in the radio controls. In addition, I'm going to power two CPU case cooling fans to keep the temprature down inside the console - the power of the Dremel has created a nifty install inside the console for the main CPU. Thoughts, suggestions and ideas appreciated.
You might try going with a fanless motherboard. less power. I got an 1440 watt amp wiring kit and ran it from the battery to under the 2nd seat to power my amps, tv tumer, monitors, carputer with enough left to power anything else I nned...
Thanks for the feedback vette. I'm using an XPC Shuttle case for the carputer, using the ICE cooling system, better than fanless - low power draw and huge cooling capabilities. Quick follow up question for you though - what did you terminate the amp wiring kit in to? Just an ATC fuse block?

Sorry haven’t been on in awhile. What I did was to run a Amp wiring kit from the battery, It comes with an inline fuse, then I got a distribution block from a local electrical store, so that The large amp wire run to block then I have 8 other places to connect various power wires to for the TV tuner, cpu, monitors, amps, etc... then I used a large gauge wire from the radio fuse using a using a custom made connector that plugs in along side the existing fuse to another block, allowing me to connect 8 devices to it. allowing me to turn on all the devices using the key. It also allows me to use the accessory delay after I turn of the key. It seems to be working great for me. Main power comes from the battery but still allows me to use the key to turn everything on and off. My fanless power supply has a delay feature that turns on the computer a few seconds after the key is turned on to prevent battery drain and prevent voltage/amp surges during startup. I then used a piece of thin aluminum under the second seat (slides right under the flat piece of metal running the length of the seat) and mounted everything to it. Looks good and everything stays in place...<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
