Didn't think to ask this here, until I saw another similar post...
Anyway...there's this country song about a little girl whose dad is abusive and she (the little girl) hides behind the couch while the dad shoots the mom then kills himself. Then the law takes her away and she winds up with "a new mom and a new dad" who take her to church and she wonders who that guy on the cross is...but she knows he came down because he was with her there behind the couch the night her parents died.
It's a tear jerker...just don't know the name of the song or who sings it...any help?
if you search possibly on CMT's website you may still find the article and interview dealing with the song also quite good.. shame we havent heard much music out of john michael lately
i love I swear by JMM but im a born romantic with my honey and we always slow dance to that one and I Cross My Heart by George Strait and of course our song Keeper of the Stars by tracy Byrd
I wouldnt consider it painful, but I think it all has true meaning. I cant stand the rap and crap you hear on the radio and music channels nowadays. Country tells a story, and tells about life.
