1000 watt system with the factory 6 disc. It really helps drown out the wife!

Don't anybody here tell her that though.

So far the most useful would have to be the nerf bars. Or maybe the transferflow tank. It was kinda nice to go 2,000 miles without a fillup!

But the most fun is the Grover air horn!

Navigation system. I installed a factory system from a 06 Ford 500 and it was the best addition to my 05 Dually (38k miles).

Another nice accessory that I added was the Homelink that is standard in many other Ford vehicles. I have it programed for the shop door and gate as well as my home garage. Now I don't have to worry with all of the remotes falling off the visor.

pachangalpina...you have created a need I had not though about. Can you enlighten me about your upgrades. Both would be great for my truck.

My Super Duty was a great accessory to go with my truck box. I've got everything in there.

I'll double the back up sensor. Thought it was silly when I bought it but has saved my hide several times.

So far, custom tool box, tonneau cover, Hi idle mod, remote start and alarm, would have to say the remote start and alarm so far (it was -20 Celsius this weekend, -12 this week...). Everything in the tool box including diesel additives some oil, tools, shovel (no winch yet). Still use a plastic Milk Container to hike up in the box. Next mod is to raise those side steps, I was dragging snow this am getting out the driveway.

Hi:
Of all the things I have added, lights, LEDs, tinting and such. The most usefull item is the "1999-2001 Ford (40/20/40) Cup Holder". Ya beleave it or not....I have the 99 with the useless coin holder. The cup holder in the ashtray is useless also. This cup holder is perfect for longer trips, check it out. www.allaboutdiesels.com & click on accessories

Wheel to wheel step bars...much easier to get into the bed-rail mount tool box...plus tonneau cover that it on it's 5th truck.

See pics in gallery.

spray on bedliner would be #1, but the front tow hooks would be a close #2 pulled Chebbys out and popped a locked gate (lawfully).

I bought a set of visors off ebay that had the homelink attached to them and removed the unit and instead of installing it in my visor, I mounted it in the overhead console. My 05 does not have the computer in the overhead console because the mileage is in the odometer and ext temp is in with the cabin temp settings. I installed the homelink next to where the computer display is on the 04 and eariler trucks. The only thing that was needed was power which I was able to tap into from the overhead map light.

The nav system was not difficult either. I used one from a 06 500 which is the DVD based system and the hook-up was fairly straight forward. I removed the old unit, relocated the brackets on the nav unit (they had several mounting positions) and added some speed nuts to the extra (now needed) holes in the dash. The unit had the GPS antenna which I mounted under the top of the dash. Hooked up the stereo antenna and wiring connectors and started the unit.

I still have a few issues that I am trying to sort out with it that do not affect the sound quality or navigation functions. The control back lighting is not working at night, the speed comp volumn is not working and the auto day/night is not working on the screen. I can go into the diagnostic mode and see that these features are dissabled but can not figure out how to enable them. The dealer was unable to find any programming info and sent me to the repair center that services their warranty stereo type work, but they were not able to help because this has only been available for a select few 06 models. They were very surprised that I got as far as I did. They gave me contacts at Visteon and Pioneer (who made the unit) and told me to try that route. Since it has been working for its intended purpose and since I have been very busy, I have not had a chance to get any further. I will get it completed, but for now it works great.

What sort of $$$ did the NAV system from a 500 cost you and where did you get it? I recently put a Tom-Tom in my '06 F-350 Lariat, but the indash unit would be much nicer.
