If its a F-150 its no doubt a 9" Ford if its the original axle but if it is the factory axle your looking at the famous Ford 9 inch. Pretty easy to tell if its a 9" if it doesn't have a differential cover plate on the back of her and she has a drop out section on the front.
its not on the paper he gave me but that doesnt mean anything, once again i havent looked at it yet so i'll check it out 9 inch is what he was hoping.. which leads me to my next question why do the F-250's (or at least mine) have Dana 60 rear ends and the 150's got 9 inch? thanks.
Dave, the reason they put the 60 in your F250 is because it's a heavier and stronger axle. That's really the big difference in the two trucks If you put a ford 9 inch in your F 250, i suppose you'd have a F150
F-350's have a dana 60 upfront instead of a 44, and can have a dana 60 or 70 in the back, although i'm not 100% sure about the 70, just what i heard. f-350s also have bigger brakes
Dave, You have it all in one line, I was asking to see it as thought you were looking at the tag. (top line & bottom line)
